Now back home in Quezon City, in the Philippines, she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Here she walks through her neighborhood with Carmela Anteza (left), herself a survivor of trafficking in Japan who know is a member of Batis Aware, a group of women, most of whom are survivors of human trafficking, which works to provide support and education to Filipina women caught up in trafficking or vulnerable to exploitation by traffickers. On the right is Nora Lat Guillermo, a social worker for the Batis Center for Women. Villeta was taken to Japan as part of an arranged marriage with an older Japanese man, but once there was forced to work in a night club. She eventually managed to leave, and has filed a criminal complaint against the woman who recruited her in the Philippines. She has been assisted by the Batis Center for Women, which helped her with relocation and medical treatment.
