MSF established the clinic in December 2007 to provide health care to the thousands of refugees who live in and around the church. Ms. Chigara, a refugee from Zimbabwe, has lived in South Africa since 2007, and brought her baby to the clinic for a rash. Dr. Mukanzila is also Zimbabwean. A June 2009 MSF report claimed Zimbabwean refugees are being turned away from South African hospitals, despite official policies that outlaw discrimination against foreigners. ..
