Add to Cart Add to Lightbox Download7 March 2022, Budapest, Hungary: Volunteer worker Aniko, a French woman of Hungarian descent currently living in Budapest helps assemble boxes full of necessities for Ukrainian refugees, at Mandák house, home to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary, Józsefváros district. Serving some of the poorest areas of Budapest, the parish in Józsefváros is an active congregation with regards to social work, and more than 100 people have volunteered to help organise and provide support for incoming refugees from Ukraine, following the beginning of a Russian invasion of the country on 24 February 2022. With the massive influx of refugees arriving daily in Hungary, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary is taking an active role in responding to the most urgent needs.
