Roma boys get ready for school in Berlin

Their father, Genadi Hristov, looks on. Roma immigrants from Bulgaria, they live in the Neukölln neighborhood of Berlin, Germany. The two boys, 12 and 9, participate in an after school program sponsored by the Salem Gemeinde United Methodist Church. It focuses on children from Roma and other vulnerable families, and encourages interfaith cooperation and understanding in an ethnically and religiously diverse neighborhood.
