Eyes highlight campaign of housing demolition in East Jerusalem

Eyes painted on Palestinian homes in Silwan, a neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.

The eyes are part of an international public art project in support of Silwan’s longstanding fight against dispossession by Israeli officials. Murals depicting the eyes of local and international leaders, activists, workers, and more, are scattered across the hills of Silwan and can be seen from miles away. Eighty percent of the homes in Silwan and other neighborhoods in East Jerusalem have received eviction notices, and thousands of Palestinians have already been dispossessed.
