Syrian refugees find home in Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadAhlam Mazatha prepares food in her kitchen in Madaba, a sprawling Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan that has grown in recent years with the arrival of refugees--like Mazatha--from war-torn Syria. She and her husband and three children fled Daraa in 2013 when bombing destroyed their home. Mazatha was a teacher in Syria, and her husband was a librarian and owned a taxi, but in Jordan they are not allowed to work by the government. The Department of Service for Palestinian Refugees of the Middle East Council of Churches, a member of the ACT Alliance, provides a variety of services here, including medical care.
