Displaced woman in South Sudan
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadAsanta Jantana walks along a road in Kotobi, South Sudan, carrying some of the food and non-food items she received during a distribution of aid to displaced families. She is one of thousands who were displaced by political violence that broke out in December 2013 and quickly fractured regions of the young nation along ethnic and tribal lines. Jantana fled Juba with her seven children for this village, where she moved in with a brother. Yet she hasn't had enough food for her whole family, so she sent four of her children to live with another relative. She hasn't heard from her husband, a soldier, since the fighting began. Finn Church Aid, a member of the ACT Alliance, provided materials for this aid distribution.
