9 October 2022, Kyiv, Ukraine: A collection of so-called 'hedgehogs', large metal constructions used to block roads specifically so that tanks cannot pass, sit on the side of the road at the Maidan Nezalezhnosti --Independence Square -- the central square of Kyiv, capital city of Ukraine. As Russian military forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022, such hedgehogs were placed as barricades to prevent Russian troops from advancing into the heart of the city of Kyiv. Here pictured, a hedgehog carefully decorated with graffiti.
