Hondurans arrive home after deportation from the United States
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadHonduran women deported from the United States use their phones to contact family and friends after they arrived at a church-run center in the San Pedro Sula airport. They were flown to the airport aboard a U.S. government flight, then bused to a remote section of the airport where the Catholic Church operates a Center for Attention to Returned Migrants. The deported are welcomed home and given their phones, shoelaces, belts and other personal belonging that were taken from them before boarding the flight. They are then cleared by immigration officials and offered assistance with seeking jobs or transportation to other places in Honduras.
