Ruth Atamba is a member of Operation Hope, a support group of HIV+ widows in Nairobi who have received organizational and microcredit support from United Methodist Women. Here she helps her daughter Sharly Agnes, age 7, get dressed for school inn the morning. What she makes from raising chickens--her small business that's been helped by loans from the group--pays the school fees for her daughter.
