Victor is a member and leader of a peasant farmer group in the Aguán region of Honduras .

"We've had big successes here, though we've had big floods from the Aguan river, recently with the two hurricanes Eta and Iota, but we've recovered. We've got cassava and banana and water melon growing. We're still here fighting to come out well, when we lose something we work hard to recover. With World Renew we've opened up a well, with a submergible pump that allow us to survive in the summer, in drought, and so we have irrigattion now. To have food and crops to sell is vital for us."

"My son was killed three years ago, he was 32 years old, he was a great leader here for land rights. He was out working with his uncles, then he went home and lay down on his hammock, and they were waiting for hm, they didn't speak a work, they shot him six times. He was killed because of organising here in Aguán over land rights. It is known who did it."
