Woman owns shop in postwar Sri Lanka village

Pramila Kirubajhas is proud owner of a small shop in Karadianaru, Sri Lanka. Once displaced by Sri Lanka’s bloody civil war, when she moved back home after the fighting ended, a church group loaned her money to open the store. Her profits have enabled her to pay for her children's education and improve the family diet.
