Nine-year old Martin Hristov, a Roma immigrant from Bulgaria, prepares his hair at home in the morning before leaving for school in the Neukölln neighborhood of Berlin, Germany. He participates in an after school program sponsored by the Salem Gemeinde United Methodist Church. It focuses on children from Roma and other vulnerable families, and encourages interfaith cooperation and understanding in an ethnically and religiously diverse neighborhood.
