The word meaning ’hard working’ in Swahili, Bidii is the name of a vocational training programme of the Lutheran World Federation at the Kakuma refugee camp, whereby refugees learn essential skills needed to earn an income, including tailoring and computer skills, respectively. The computer training is run in partnership with a so-called Community-Based Organization (CBO), whereby refugees themselves are empowered to train other refugees in certain skills.
