Dam floods forest in Amazon region

Londolfo Aranha Neto, 59, casts his net among treetops at the edge of the Belo Monte Dam reservoir, near Altamira, Brazil. He is among the thousands of fisher families displaced by the flooding of the Xingu River who are slowly moving back. But the once-rich fishing grounds yield far fewer fish than before, and he says fishers constantly snag their nets on submerged trees.
