Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadLambert Grijns, the Dutch ambassador for Sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV/AIDS, speaks to the opening session of the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, Australia, on July 20, 2014. Grijns is pointing to several empty seats in the auditorium, seats left open in honor of six colleagues who failed to make it to Australia because their Malaysia Airlines flight was shot down over Ukraine. The opening session included a moment of silence for the dead and their families, and several speakers referenced the huge loss they represented to the AIDS community.
