Teachers displaced by conflict in contested border region of Abyei

Displaced teachers, participating in a continuing education course, observe the butchering of a goat in Agok, a town in the contested Abyei region where tens of thousands of people fled in 2011 after an attack by soldiers and militias from the northern Republic of Sudan on most parts of Abyei, which sits on the contested border between Sudan and South Sudan. The training course was sponsored by the local Catholic parish and conducted by volunteers from Solidarity with South Sudan. .
