Poisoned banana workers protest
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadA man displays the Nicaraguan flag at an intersection in Managua as part of a protest by some 3,000 former banana workers who have been poisoned by Nemagon (dibromochloropropane). Most of the group is camped out across the street from the Nicaraguan National Assembly, where they are pressuring the government to provide health care and support their legal actions against US companies which manufactured and used the pesticide. Nemagon is considered a risk factor for cancer, kidney failure, acute respiratory disease, heart attack, sterility, muscular atrophy, skin complaints, and other health problems.
