Vilma Maldonado holds a photo of her son Jesus Humberto Sanchez Maldonado in the street near her home in La Lima, Honduras. The young man left for the United States in 2010, but Maldonado hasn't heard from him since his last phone call home in 2011 from the northern Mexican city of Monterrey. Maldonado is a member of a group of mothers of migrants who have disappeared on their journey north.
