Eduardo dos Santos, 13, and his family were forced by the construction of the Belo Monte Dam to leave their village along the Xingu River, and today live in a crowded housing project built for the displaced in Altamira, Brazil. Because the area where they were resettled is outside the city and has no phone service and little transportation, many people have moved away temporarily or permanently.
