Encouraging them is their teacher, Regina John Thabo (center), who is studying to be a better teacher in a program sponsored by Solidarity with Southern Sudan, an international network of Catholic groups supporting Southern Sudan with educational personnel and prayer. Irish Sister Elizabeth Ryan, FCJ (right), supervises Thabo's progress. NOTE: In July 2011 Southern Sudan became the independent country of South Sudan.
