Hondurans arrive home after deportation from the United States
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadDora Melara speaks to Honduran women and men who were deported from the United States and are arriving at a church-run reception center in the San Pedro Sula airport. The migrants were flown to the airport aboard a U.S. government flight, then bused to a remote section of the airport where the Catholic Church operates a Center for Attention to Returned Migrants. The deported are welcomed home, cleared by immigration officials, then offered assistance with seeking jobs or transportation to other places in Honduras. Melara is a legal advisor to the center.
